Whether you call it a boulevard, hellstrip, tree lawn, or road verge - the little patch of tired, dry soil between the sidewalk and street can be problematic. Especially if your area receives snow and the streets are salted, these tough conditions can prevent many plants from flourishing... but not these natives! The species in this Boulevard Collection will convert that barren area into a beautiful pollinator oasis! Averaging 2’ tall and requiring lots of sun, these bee and butterfly magnets shine in the face of adversity. 

The Boulevard Collection includes 1 seed packet of each of the following 6 species:

Side-oats Grama (Bouteloua curtipendula) - 300 seeds/packet
Lance-leaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata) - 250 seeds/packet
Wild Lupine (Lupinus perennis) - 40 seeds/packet
Spotted Bee Balm (Monarda punctata) - 500 seeds/packet
Aromatic Aster (Symphyotrichum oblongifolium) - 200 seeds/packet
Hoary Vervain (Verbena stricta) - 750 seeds/packet

For a naturalized look, combine all seed packets to cover approximately 20-25 sq ft. Surface sow outdoors on a weed-free site in late fall. Mow the first growing season. Expect first blooms in year 2 or 3.

Alternatively, sow seed in rows in a garden setting late fall. In spring, thin seedlings and weed as expected with vegetable gardening. Transplant to permanent location that fall or the following spring.
